Dave has his bachelor's degree in recreation and leisure services management from East Stroudsburg University. He served in the United States Air Force and has worked at the Crime Victims Council of the Lehigh Valley and at KidsPeace. He enjoys skiing, camping, and coaching youth soccer. As the Director of Programs, James oversees all of our programs across the Lehigh Valley, helping to provide opportunities for students to see their strengths and potential. James graduated from Bloomsburg University in 2007. Before moving into this role, James led various programs at Franklin Park and in Easton. He enjoys spending time with his wife and three children.
Adonis manages Earn a Bike and Drop-in at our downtown bike shop, and our recreational, road riding, track cycling, and mountain biking programs for all our students. He is a certified coach through the National Interscholastic Cycling Association. Adonis has a degree in criminal justice from LCCC. “I enjoy working with the students. Working with them is something new each day.”
Hana manages East Allentown Food Pantry. Hana graduated from William Allen High School and attended Long Island University in Brooklyn for four years, studying business management. “I was a child who grew up in Center City Allentown. I know what it’s like being one of these children, and I love helping to point them in the right direction.”

Avery started off as a youth apprentice in 2021 after being a long-time Bike Works student and is now planning our upcoming Youth Bike Summit. Along with that, he is leading our Youth Leadership and Youth Advisory Council programs. He is working on finishing his degree in Business Administration at LCCC. In his free time, he enjoys the outdoors by cycling or hiking and music and film.
Brean has lived a life of bikes since being sent to bike camp at the age of 14. Since then, it has been touring, towning, bike messengering, wrenching, coaching, race directing and racing. When not on the bike, which is rare, you will find Brean doting on his ludicrously spoiled cats or perhaps cross-country skiing. But, tbh, he's probably on a bike right now.
Reilly was born and raised in the Lehigh Valley and has been riding since age four. Her passion for cycling has everything to do with the Velodrome and their Friday night races, which she attended every week with her dad. She graduated from Lehigh Valley Charter High School of the Arts in 2022 and took an adventurous detour to Los Angeles

In her free time, Reilly enjoys spending time outside, playing bass guitar, or cuddling with one of her seven pets. Her favorite part of working at CBW is being able to form meaningful relationships with the kids of Allentown and seeing the impact of those relationships.
Community Bike Works, a thriving youth development organization, seeks full-time and part-time Program Instructors to help students learn life skills through hands-on bicycle lessons.
JOB DESCRIPTION | Program Instructors teach our Earn a Bike or Junior Earn a Bike classes while building relationships with students and performing needed administrative tasks. The Program Instructor will:
• Teach classes at our Allentown and Easton bike shops, and in Allentown, Bethlehem and Easton schools.
• Help lead our afterschool and summer Drop-in program by coordinating fun and educational activities.
• Build meaningful relationships with students that offer them mentorship and support.
• Maintain student records and complete other administrative tasks needed to run programs.
• Assist with bike repairs, bike donations, and in the upkeep of the Community Bike Works bike shop.
• Participate in recreational bike rides on local trails.
• Represent Community Bike Works in the community.
QUALIFICATIONS | The ideal candidate has the patience and enthusiasm to help students learn and succeed. Candidates must be self-motivated and willing to learn, able to work both independently and as part of a team. Every team member helps ensure that the values of Community Bike Works, including racial and economic justice, are upheld in all interactions with students, parents, and partners. Successful candidates will:
• Complete state and federal child abuse clearance checks.
• Have a current driver’s license and a driving record that allows you to drive a company vehicle.
• Be comfortable on a bike or willing to learn.
• Have proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
• The ability to communicate in Spanish is preferred but not required. • No mechanical background is necessary; training will be provided.
HOURS & SALARY | Full-time positions are available Mondays through Fridays, 10 am to 6 pm or 11 am to 7 pm depending on time of year. Occasional Saturdays are required. Full-time positions begin at $42,600 per year ($20.50 per hour) and include 12 paid holidays plus paid vacation, sick, and personal time. Community Bike Works covers 100% of the cost of excellent health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as an Employee Assistance Program. After one year, full-time employees are eligible for our SIMPLE IRA and tuition reimbursement. Other benefits include a bike, a monthly cycling reimbursement, and logo shirts and sweatshirts.
Candidates for part-time positions should be available Monday-Thursday from 2 to 7 pm, Friday from 2 pm to 6 pm, and some Saturdays. Part-time positions begin at $18/hour and include paid time off and a bicycle.

The Community Bike Works Board of Directors develops a vision for the organization and, along with the executive director, establishes and evaluates goals and policies to build that vision. Directors have fiduciary responsibility for Bike Works; they approve the budget, review financial records, and ensure adequate funds are raised. Directors serve as advocates for Bike Works in the community.
Community members generally join the board through membership on one of our board committees, including events, fund development, or marketing.
