Youth Apprentices
Participants (ages 14 and up) who have volunteered as peer instructors may continue by enrolling in
the Bicycle Mechanics Course, which prepares the individual for employment as an entry level mechanic in a
bike shop. Upon completion they may apply to be paid apprentices.
Objectives:
- Provide Youth Instructors opportunity to continue as paid youth apprentices
- Develop 2 youth apprentices each year
This year, 16 youths served as volunteer instructors, 2 were advisers to the board of directors and 3 were paid apprentices!
